Stephen H. Jackson joins J.H. Cohn Partnership

Stephen H. (Steve) Jackson, CPA, has joined J.H. Cohn LLP as a partner. He will be based in the firm's Glastonbury, CT, office.

Before joining J.H. Cohn, Jackson was the managing partner of the Hartford office of a national accounting firm. While there, he also was a leader in their New England SEC practice serving as coordinating partner on several public company audits. Jackson also was the coordinating partner on a variety of other middle market companies including manufacturers, large physician practices, technology, and not-for-profit organizations.

Jackson has extensive experience advising management on business combinations, SEC registration statements, internal controls, financial instruments, stock based compensation, and other technical accounting, reporting, and auditing matters. He started his career at a Big 4 accounting firm where he served middle market public and private companies in the manufacturing, distribution, healthcare, and technology industries for sixteen years.

"Steve possesses a phenomenal knowledge of the Hartford market and the unique needs and challenges of the businesses and industries based here," said Frank Longobardi, CPA, office managing partner of J.H. Cohn's Glastonbury office. "He is `home grown' in our market and that gives him a perspective that's difficult to come by, a perspective that effectively reassures our clients that he understands their pain points. He's a welcome addition to this team."

Steve graduated from Babson College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting in 1986. He is a Member American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants. He currently serves as the president of the Connecticut Rivers Council, BSA, and has been a coordinator of workplace campaigns for the United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut and the Greater Hartford Arts Council.
