Marking the end of an era - November 2005

For Immediate Release

How do you mark the end of an era?

At AccountingWEB we mark it personally. And we are giving our readers the chance to do the same.

Beginning on Thursday, November 17, 2005, AccountingWEB members can write and sign an electronic postcard, the Goodbye Greenspan Card, which will be printed and personally delivered to Alan Greenspan by AccountingWEB Publisher, Rob Nance in January 2006.

In addition to writing a personal retirement note to Chairman Greenspan, AccountingWEB readers and visitors can test their knowledge of the man, the Federal Reserve, and the actions taken during his term in office by playing the Goodbye Greenspan Game beginning November 28. The names of those answering all the questions correctly each week will be entered into a drawing for an iPod Nano. Weekly drawings will begin on December 2 and be held every Friday for at least six weeks. One Lucky Grand Prize Winner will accompany Rob Nance to deliver the postcard to Chairman Greenspan.

Alan Greenspan is the only Federal Reserve Chairman most professionals under the age of 40 have ever known. Since taking the rudder of the American economy in 1987, he has survived the president who appointed him (Ronald Reagan), and successfully guided the economy through the crash of 1987, the recession of the early 1990's, the historic heights of the late 1990's, the bursting of the dot com bubble, terrorist attacks and into a new millennium. He will not be easily replaced nor will he ever be forgotten. It is truly the end of an era. AccountingWEB is proud to offer our readers a chance to commemorate and celebrate the chairman's achievements personally.
