Thomas W. Roberts, CPA, Managing Partner of Leone, McDonnell & Roberts, Professional Association, recently was reelected to serve as the treasurer and on the board of directors for Starting Point, a local not-for-profit organization. Roberts's appointments are his second consecutive three-year term for each role.

"It is an honor to work with an organization that provides such great support to victims of domestic and sexual violence," said Roberts. "I look forward to my second term and remain committed to helping enhance the services Starting Point offers throughout our local communities."

Located in North Conway, New Hampshire, Starting Point's mission is to ensure quality services are provided to victims of relationship violence and sexual abuse throughout Carroll County. The not-for-profit agency's primary focuses are to prevent future relationship violence, promote social change, and encourage accountability and education for perpetrators and stalkers. In 2009 alone, Starting Point provided 1,821 emergency bed nights of shelter to victims of domestic and sexual violence.

Roberts joined Leone, McDonnell & Roberts in 1987 and currently works in the firm's Wolfeboro and North Conway offices. In his role as president and managing partner, he guides the firm's strategy and day-to-day operations, working toward the overall growth and sustainability of the firm. Roberts specializes in providing consulting and tax planning services for private, family-owned businesses and is heavily involved with the firm's not-for-profit organization practice.

In addition to his involvement with Starting Point, Roberts is active with several other local civic organizations, including the Kingswood Cal Ripken Baseball League, Kingswood Lancers Football, and Wolfeboro Tuftonboro Youth Basketball League. He also was awarded the Volunteer of the Year Award by the Mount Washington Valley Economic Council in 2009.
