JHI members to discuss strategies for success at conference
JHI, a global network of independent accountancy, business advisor, and financial consultancy firms, will hold its Region of the Americas Conference and Annual General Meeting (AGM) June 15-19, at the W Hotel in Santiago, Chilé.
Themed "Winning in Challenging Times," attendees will have the opportunity to connect with their peers throughout the Americas region and discuss strategies that will position them for future growth and success. This year's conference program contains educational sessions covering a variety of topics and featuring top leaders throughout the accounting industry.
"It is important now more than ever to continue to offer our members a forum where they can learn from their peers and discuss industry challenges," said Robert Pritchard, JHI Region of the Americas chair and president, Pritchard, Bieler, Gruver & Willison, P.C. "Attendees will walk away from the conference with a better understanding of the direction of the industry and how they can utilize this knowledge to achieve success within their own businesses."
Guests will hear from a variety of speakers at the event, including renowned Chiléan economist, Rolf Luders, as he delivers the keynote address. An expert in Latin American economics, Luders was the Economy and Treasury Minister from 1982-1983 and currently teaches at one of the most prestigious Universities in Chilé. Luders will discuss the future of the financial industry as it pertains to the Americas region. Attendees also can participate in an interactive session led by Tony Brigmon, motivational speaker and the former Ambassador of FUN for Southwest Airlines, where they will learn how to stay focused under stress, build team spirit and morale, and increase productivity despite the effects of the current recession.
Jay Nisberg, an internationally known management consultant providing services to the CPA profession for nearly 25 years, during his session on day three will discuss several topics within the financial industry and how these areas are essential for businesses to remain profitable. Nisberg's expertise runs the gamut from partner retreats and client satisfaction surveys to mergers and acquisitions. Senior Vice President and a Financial Consultant for RBC Wealth Management, Steve Cordasco, will also help attendees take the necessary steps to ensure they reach their projected financial goals on day four of the Conference. Cordasco has been helping investors reach their financial goals since 1990 and is a licensed Registered Investment Advisor Representative and Registered Representative.
Attendees also will have the ability to experience the beautiful Chiléan culture and scenery by participating in several off-site excursions. The cultural and architectural tour in Santiago will take participants to the Centro Cultural Palacio La Moneda, home to unique shops, the Main Square, known for its historic buildings and the Paris-Londres neighborhood to see architecture from the early 1920s. Also, attendees can visit the Central Market in Santiago to gather all necessary items for a cooking class with renowned Chiléan Chef, Matias Palomo, soak up the historic sites of the Valparaiso and Vina Del Mar and experience the wonders of Chiléan fashion during the shopping tour at Pueblito De Los Dominicos.
