Fields of Dixon Hughes receives CVA certification
Dixon Hughes PLLC, a CPA firm based in the Southern U.S., recently announced that Ron Fields, a member within the firm's Spartanburg, South Carolina office, has received certification as a Certified Valuation Analyst.
"It's a great personal and professional accomplishment to receive certification in an area that I've enjoyed working in for years and that's been furthered with comprehensive testing and training," Fields said. Along with receiving his CVA certification, Fields also received certification as a Certified Merger & Acquisition Advisor earlier this year.
A CVA is certified by the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA) and The International Association of Consultants, Valuators, and Analysts (IACVA), and is highly experienced in business valuation standards. In order to be eligible for the CVA designation, applicants must hold a CPA license, be a practitioner in good standing with NACVA, attend an optional five-day training program, submit six references, and pass a comprehensive two-part examination.

Voice of the Editor
Which isn’t completely true. I mean, occasionally I drop by when I manage to sneak out of the nonstop frat party over at Going Concern, but I’m mostly a wallflower over there. I’m happy to say that I’ve been given express permission (or explicit orders, if you like) to wander over here to AccountingWEB more often.
Why is that, you might ask? My job is to replace the irreplaceable Gail Perry as Editor-in-Chief. What does that mean? I don’t really know! I think it’ll be fun getting a feel for things, throwing in my own thoughts here and there, and listening to the discussions you’re having about the accounting profession.
