Day 61: Back and Neck Stretch
by AccountingWEB on
Do you slouch in your chair? Have you noticed your shoulders getting rounded and your neck protruding forward? Do you stand up at 5:00 p.m. and feel like your back looks a bit like a question mark? Do your neck and back ache?
If so, this stretch can help relieve your pain and improve your posture.
Step 1: Face the corner of a wall.
Step 2: Extend your right arm and place your hand against the side of the wall.
Step 3: Turn your body left and lean forward as you feel the stretch in your chest and shoulder.
Step 4: Keep your arm in line with your shoulder as you complete the stretch.
Step 5: Hold the stretch for thirty seconds.
Step 6: Do three sets on both sides.

Do you have a tendency to slump at your desk when you've worked too many hours? If so, you might want to try using a tension band. PostureNOW makes a band that not terribly expensive and seems to be effective. At least it beats sticking a ruler down the back of my shirt, which is what I normally do when I'm working long hours. Anyway, the folks at PostureNOW want to offer a deal on their tension band to busy accountants this spring. If you use the word "TAX" as a coupon code, you can take $6 off the $39.95 purchase price.
Special offer: PostureNOW has provided AccountingWEB with a few of their tension bands to give away to lucky readers. If you contact me with information about how your firm is promoting fitness and wellness during this busy season, I'll send you one of the PostureNOW bands!
