Carr, Riggs & Ingram congratulates Mississippi Gold Medal Award recipient
Carr, Riggs & Ingram announced that staff member Jon Barnett has been awarded the Fred T. Neely Gold Medal Award by the Mississippi Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA) for achieving the highest grade on the 2009 examination while passing all subjects in one sitting.
Barnett was recently honored during the business meeting of the MSCPA's annual convention.
"Our firm believes in hiring the best talent and investing in their futures, and Jon is an example of our success in this arena," said local Partner-In-Charge Dan Holliday, CPA. "We congratulate Jon for this accomplishment and state-wide recognition, and our team looks forward to his continued success at our firm."
Barnett completed both a Bachelor of Accountancy and Bachelor of Business Administration at Mississippi State University. He currently assists CRI's insurance audit team.

Which isn’t completely true. I mean, occasionally I drop by when I manage to sneak out of the nonstop frat party over at Going Concern, but I’m mostly a wallflower over there. I’m happy to say that I’ve been given express permission (or explicit orders, if you like) to wander over here to AccountingWEB more often.
Why is that, you might ask? My job is to replace the irreplaceable Gail Perry as Editor-in-Chief. What does that mean? I don’t really know! I think it’ll be fun getting a feel for things, throwing in my own thoughts here and there, and listening to the discussions you’re having about the accounting profession.
