Accounting Transition Advisors adds Basinski to its leadership team

Accounting Transition Advisors, LLC (ATA), a national consulting firm focused exclusively on assisting accounting firms in the process of buying, selling, and merging with each other, is pleased to announce the addition of Mark Basinski as the principal in-charge of managing its California and Arizona markets.

Along with Joel Sinkin, president of ATA; Terry Putney, CEO of ATA; and the entire ATA professional team - Basinski will be concentrating on expanding and maintaining relationships in those regions.

As a successful executive managing accounting firm M&A and practice operations and a former managing partner of a CPA firm during the past 30 years, Basinski has a hands-on knowledge of CPA firm management and a strong appreciation for the pulse of the California and Arizona markets.

"Mark brings an incredible depth of experience that will serve our clients extremely well with their growth and succession needs through facilitating mergers and acquisitions," Putney said.

Sinkin added, "As a former executive at H&R Block with international responsibilities and a national practice leader with American Express Tax & Business Services, Mark provides ATA with a real insider's understanding of these markets and our clients' needs."

Basinski has an extensive background in the areas of tax, accounting, and financial services operations and acquisitions. He has spent the past 10 years with H&R Block, most recently as the general manager of HRB Tax and Business Services. Prior to that he was the president of H&R Block International, where he was responsible for all business operations and M&A activity outside of the United States serving over 2.5 million clients worldwide.

Prior to joining H&R Block, Basinski held a number of positions with American Express Tax and Business Services. After selling his firm to Amex in 1992, he held the roles of managing director, regional managing director, and, ultimately, vice president of operations for the firm. In that capacity he was responsible for day-to-day operations, acquisition, and integration of accounting firms.
