2009 Product Review: Run Powered by ADP Payroll for Accountants
ADP has been an outsource provider of Payroll and Human Resource services since 1949. RUN Powered by ADP Payroll for Accountants is an online package created for accountants to be able to process payroll for their clients. First launched in October 2007, ADP is continuing to add new features and functionality to RUN to better fit the needs of accountants.
The screens are simple and straightforward, without complex menu options, but the package is powerful. As an online package, it allows access from wherever you are.
For the accountant, it is a versatile tool. It is individually set up for each client to enter their own data or have the accountant enter it. Checks can be printed by the client, by the accountant, by ADP, or electronically deposited. The accountant portal allows the accountant and staff easy access to all clients from one main screen that includes basic status information for each client.
RUN offers flexibility, allowing each payroll run to include both employees and contractors. With over 80 different earnings and deductions, clients won’t be struggling to fit their specialized business into a limited structure. RUN also supports restaurants and other tipped establishments. With over 4,000 local jurisdictions already included, there shouldn’t be a problem of remembering to do that ‘extra’ payroll tax return.
Don McLoughlin, VP Marketing for Small Business Services commented, “RUN Powered by ADP Payroll for Accountants is the only end-to-end solution that can handle both do-it-yourself and full tax filing and allows accountants to handle each of their clients differently. The solution gives accountants and their clients the flexibility they want and the support of ADP’s deep payroll expertise.”
Specific pricing is not available, as APD would prefer that accountants contact a sales representative to analyze their specific needs and come up with the best RUN package for them.
