TROY, Mich., May 22, 2014 – The Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants announced it has officially changed its acronym from MACPA to MICPA. The announcement was made by MICPA President and CEO, Peggy Dzierzawski, CAE.
The change was made for several reasons, including a desire to more closely represent the organization’s Michigan CPA members, to provide a fresh, updated look with a new logo, and to enable flexibility.
Along with the new acronym, MICPA has established a new website address, www.micpa.org. The old site address, www.michcpa.org, will continue to function, as will any emails sent to MICPA staff using the @michcpa.org domain.
“The change to MICPA reflects how proud we are to be Michigan CPAs, and enhances the look and feel of our Michigan brand,” said Dzierzawski. “MICPA members have embraced the change, and all of us at the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants are confident the re-brand will help our mission to heighten the success of CPAs and their value to society.”
The Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants is a diversified, professional, member-driven organization serving more than 17,000 CPAs and affiliated professionals throughout Michigan. Visit MICPA’s website at www.micpa.org.
