INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana CPA Society will be the Torch Sponsor for the inaugural Indiana Entrepreneurship Week taking place June 14-20, 2015. The Torch Sponsorship is the lead sponsorship for this new event designed to bring attention and opportunities to entrepreneurship. Proclaimed by Gov. Mike Pence, Entrepreneurship Week is a way to further recognize the efforts of entrepreneurs throughout Indiana.
“CPAs not only help entrepreneurs start and maintain successful businesses, but many CPAs are entrepreneurs themselves,” said INCPAS President & CEO Gary Bolinger, CAE. “With such a long-standing commitment to entrepreneurship, it made perfect sense for the Society to support and partner with the first Entrepreneurship Week in Indiana. We are looking forward to bringing more awareness and exposure to the importance of entrepreneurship and encouraging potential entrepreneurs to realize their goal of having their own business.”
With the theme of Igniting Indiana, Entrepreneurship Week will offer events each day throughout Indiana engaging entrepreneurs in educational and celebratory opportunities. Currently, planned events include the Young Entrepreneurs Co-Working Space events; an exporting workshop showcasing federal, state and regional exporting resources; and an Indiana Procurement Technical Assistance Center Industry Day to facilitate relationships between small businesses and Federal Government agencies. The culmination of the week will be the Economic Development and Growth through Entrepreneurship (EDGE) Awards presented by the Indiana Small Business Development Center with support of the Lieutenant Governor’s office.
“We are elated to have the support of the Indiana CPA Society for Entrepreneurship Week,” said Jacob Schpok, executive director of the Indiana Office of Small Business and Entrepreneurship, the state agency coordinating several state-wide events during the week-long celebration. “With more than 144,000 small businesses in Indiana, we know that the Indiana CPA Society not only supports the efforts of many of those Hoosier entrepreneurs, but many of their members are entrepreneurs themselves, creating a natural fit for their support of this Week.”
