SmartVault, a leading provider of SaaS online document storage and file sharing solutions, announced April 11 that the newly launched enhancements to the SmartVault-QuickBooks Online integration process focuses entirely on improving the user experience – from the initial account provisioning all the way through attaching a document to an entry in QuickBooks Online. The main enhancements include streamlining the authorization process and offering an interactive "helper" for step-by-step setup guidance so a user can get up and running on the service in minutes.

"We are committed to providing QuickBooks Online customers with a completely integrated and interactive experience for setting up the SmartVault service. We put a great deal of thought into these new enhancements, which are designed to guide users through every step of the process of downloading and integrating SmartVault for QuickBooks Online into their workflow," stated Eric Pulaski, founder and CEO of SmartVault.
SmartVault introduced two primary enhancements in this service update:
1. Streamlined authorization process – Offers users a simple and intuitive process for authorizing access of the SmartVault for QuickBooks browser extension.
2. New interactive helper – Supports users with on-screen instructions to help them easily complete setup, from account provisioning to attaching a document to the integrated SmartVault Toolbar.
SmartVault recognizes the need for superior Cloud-based document management, while also realizing the need for creating a rich customer experience from the start. These new enhancements were designed with the user experience at the forefront.
"The service can be best-of-breed, but if it's not easy to get up and running, users will not see the value immediately," said Pulaski. "We also know that most users want to 'self-serve,' so it's important that we give them a user experience right out of the gate that reduces any friction regarding setting up the service in their environment."
John Abbott, senior technologist at SmartVault, stated, "It's not enough to just deliver a killer app anymore. The Cloud is now overloaded with applications, so just picking the right one can be overwhelming enough for users. It's up to application developers like us to envision the experience from the user's perspective and then do everything we can to build apps that are exceptionally easy to implement and use."
