The holidays are here. While they can be a lot of fun, it’s also a stressful time when you’re trying to run a small firm. You’ve got family coming into town, employees taking time off, people coming over, gifts to buy, parties to throw and oh yeah, you have to make sure revenue keeps coming in and you finish the fourth quarter strong.
It won’t be easy. That’s why I want to talk this month about balancing work and the holidays. It’s important to recharge your batteries and take time off, but you also want a plan in place for when you’re gone or your employees are gone.
If you play your cards right, this can actually be an opportunity to train employees on new skills, relieve stress and bring the office together with a celebration of the year and prospects for the future.
