If you've read this blog before, you know I've had a variety of health issues. I still think that it isn't a coincidence that the initial symptoms of my having prostate cancer occurred less than a week after I was added to the Blogger Crew. The last three days, I've been living life horizontally. That's right, I've been flat on my back. I woke up Thursday in a lot of pain. Had breakfast, told my wife I really ached and hadn't slept well and was going back to bed. It was then I realized that I hurt less laying on my back then on my side (I'm a side sleeper - I know TMI). I put two and two together and realized I had bad back pain. Since then, I've discovered a couple of things. First is that this really stinks. There is only so much TV you can watch (although the first six episodes of Season 6 of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine rocked). The pain, when it hits, is horrible. And that makes watching TV worse. Second thing I've learned is if you think you are feeling better, go slowly. Like I said, this hit Thursday. I didn't go to the office that day, but did go in late Friday morning feeling great. I left after 2 hours 15 minutes and was in pain the rest of the afternoon. The worst part of this: I don't have any idea what I did to bring this on! So I could do it again and not even realize it. I'm hoping this isn't a major foreshadowing of my 50s (which hit 6 months ago).
