In remarks at Baruch College earlier this week, PCAOB Chairman Jim Doty said there was “no silver bullet” to address the challenges facing auditors, the audit model, and by extension, audit regulation today. Doty’s remarks were made in a keynote address at the Zicklin Center for Corporate Integrity’s 10th annual Financial Reporting Conference. Other speakers included FASB Chairman Leslie Seidman, SEC Chief Accountant Jim Kroeker, and other representatives of regulatory agencies and the private sector, including FEI President and CEO Marie Hollein. His wide-ranging remarks addressed the question of 'too big to fail,' PCAOB standard-setting and inspection initiatives, and more. Read highlights of Doty's speech.
