By Sally Glick - Hi everyone - and welcome to you all from the newest member of the Accounting Web blog crew.

Going forward I am expecting some pretty lively discussions from those of you who are charged with marketing communications and branding initiatives in your firms. The beauty of a blog is the instantaneous communication that can take place - as well as the ability to archive the entire discussion - and the informal, conversational tone that encourages a flow of ideas. I am hopeful that you approach this blog with comments, retorts, questions, insights and ideas to fill up the months ahead. Whether you are a CPA who has accepted a marketing role, a seasoned CMO, or a marketing coordinator on a team of "one" - this is the place for frank and open discussion!

I would like to start us off by asking how many of you have built your own strong, meaningful networks of COIs in your communities. I understand that most of us are expected to support the networking activities of the professionals within our firms, but I notice that those marketers who have their own powerful relationships can leverage these to have more influence within their firms. It is just an opinion, and I would love to hear what you think. Do you have a network of your own?
