How much influence did your professors have over you when you were making your way through the job fairs in college? I can remember my profs touting one big firm over another, encouraging us to consider smaller local firms, positioning us for corporate jobs instead of public accounting – each professor had his or her preference. This year's survey of accounting professors ranks not only the schools, but also the big firms. Recommending firms is a tough call, though, if you ask me. A Big Four firm in one city might have a spectacular reputation, while the same firm could be a lackluster place to work in another locale. In some parts of the country, the mid-range and smaller firms might be the best places to grow a career. Anyway, the results are in. See how your favorite firms and schools stack up.
