A recent survey indicated that one-third of U.S. citizens feel overwhelmed by technology. Count me in on that slice of the American pie! I'm all for technological improvements, but it's all a bit out of hand at the moment. When people are updating their Facebook pages in the frozen food aisle at the supermarket, it's time for a societal shift in behavior.
Even people who are tech lovers and early adopters are admitting that it's tough to keep up these days. Does today's workforce really need MORE STRESS? Probably not.
There are still a lot of CPAs and accountants at small public accounting firms who have resisted weaving smart phones into their work lives. I have to applaud that stance; these folks don't want to be "connected" to clients 24/7. Accounting is not a life and death business.
