For the first time in our history, half of all U.S. workers are women. Mothers are the primary breadwinners or co-breadwinners in nearly two-thirds of American families. And that changes everything. (From The Shriver Report.)
An ad, in a magazine I was reading last week-end by Jones New York, sure caught my eye, especially the quote: "Women as half of all workers changes everything."
Explore the site, consider the role of women in your firm. No, wait. Don't just consider it. Think about it seriously and at great length. Take stock of what you are doing and what you are going to do.
Consider this from the report: The battle of the sexes is over. Men and women overwhelmingly agree on what they want in life, and how they view their roles in marriage, as parents, and in their jobs. This is a permanent change in our culture. The trend line of women workers rises in the future because the jobs women are most likely to hold are expected to increase in compared to men's.
