It's the way of the world. A new survey conducted by Accountemps confirms what most of us have known for some time: employees are working longer hours to meet increased demands.
Almost 70 percent of the participating executives said they were working more hours than they were five years ago, and 27 percent are putting in significant amounts of increased time.
Accountemps Chairman Max Messmer says that too many late nights can compromise productivity.
"Managers should closely monitor employee morale and provide solutions to offset heavy workloads, such as reprioritizing projects, hiring additional personnel or bringing in temporary assistance."
