Word has it from many of our readers around the country that they have secured new office leases this year--renegotiated current spaces and moves to new digs. Even markets that are doing well (in comparison) with commercial property occupancy rates, such as Houston and Washington D.C., are only reporting three-percent average increases over last year.
Even if you don’t deal with these matters, in general, it’s still a good time to find better deals before the media announces that the economic storm has passed (when everything will go up!). A CPA in Colorado told me today that he recently renegotiated his office copier upgrade, changed his auto lease without penalty and got an unheard of deal on his mobile phone contract revision. These are wild times.
