THE LITTLE THINGS
I continue to say it and say it often: The little things make the biggest difference.
Your people and your clients judge you on little things. How often do you sincerely say, "Thank-you" to one of your long-time valued clients?
- Do you smile as you walk down the hall in the morning to get coffee?
- Do you compliment before you criticize?
- Do you give the credit to others and always take the blame upon yourself?
- Do you keep your mouth shut and listen intently?
These simple things are just part of being a kind and caring human being. Sometimes we forget, usually because we are stressed, worried, etc.
I have been reading Tom Peters' book, The Little BIG Things. Of course, it's my kind of book. However, it is BIG (538 pages). If you can't read the entire book this summer (and I strongly recommend you DO read the entire book), Peters has been so kind in making it easier.
He is offering a free download of "highlights" in the form of a 78-page pdf. Download it and read it before you enter the fall and winter busy seasons.
