A special thank-you to Heidi Brundage, Senior Technical Manager PCPS at the AICPA for leading me to a great article by Sheryl Sandberg, Facebook COO. The title of the article is, Don’t Leave Before You Leave.
The issue is the fact that there comes a time in the life of a young, ambitious and successful woman when she starts considering having children. She contemplates how busy she already is and begins to decline opportunities that could lead to a monumental step forward in her career. Almost immediately she begins to fall behind her peers.
Firm leaders, please read the article and contemplate how you may hold-back on giving opportunities to certain females without even realizing it.
