As an HR professional in the accounting world, what would I wish for? Interesting question. Throughout my “travels” I have discovered that there really aren’t any HR groups in the accounting world, or at least none that I have seen. Am I looking in the wrong places?
In contacting our state society to inquire about joining the HR group (logical place to start), they informed me the group was disbanded due to “lack of interest.” Lack of interest? I would think there would be interest abound. What better way to network and have discussions on best practices? What better way to speak to people that are in the same boat as you, and bounce ideas back and forth?
Being a part of a group like that would be invaluable. I know I would appreciate it. With all the challenges we face, and I’m sure we all face them, it would be beneficial to have a group to be a part of. A group to connect with.
