Social Media + Recruiting = ?
Just when you think you may finally have a grasp on this whole social media thing, turn for a split second, and it's changed again. Social media changes like the tide at the Jersey shore....and we all try to keep afloat. While I don't believe any one of us is a true expert, I do believe we are all students studying this phenomenon called social media.
Since social media is here to stay, how can it be used for recruiting purposes? Good question! When you find out please let me know!
Social media sites seem to be integral to employers' recruiting functions, but to what extent? Another good question, as it seems to be all over the board. Some employers' rarely use it, while some use it more.
We've only really begun to understand the effect of social media, and how to use it for good and not evil. Meaning, how to use it effectively. This just shows that employers are trying to figure out the impact of social media, and how it can relate to recruiting talent.
What's good for the goose may not be good for the gander. Employers need to do what is best for them, and their firms. It requires some homework, and going along for the ride.
