Former IRS revenue agent & enrolled agent facing 10 year sentence for not understanding QuickBooks!
Recently I was requested to appear as an expert witness on behalf of a former IRS revenue agent and a practicing enrolled agent, who was charged by the Internal Revenue Service for willfully intending to evade paying $160,000 in income taxes. This tax practitioner did not know that his postings of cash receipts in QuickBooks were not being reflected on his cash basis income statements, which he used to prepare his Schedule C.
For more on the importance of understanding how to use QuickBooks so that you, too, do not spend your remaining years in prison, please see the article, "Enrolled agent faces a ten year prison term for failing to understand QuickBooks. QuickBooks users beware: never enter your customer payments prior to recording an invoice or statement charge!"
