Academic Freedom What it is, and is not
In yesterday's blog I made brief mention of academic freedom.
Then, in this morning's online edition of Slate Magazine, there was an article on the subject.
It was prompted by the Attorney General of Virginia subpoenaing the University of Virginia for information relating to the data and research of a former faculty member.

Barbara McElroy is Associate Professor of Accounting and Head of the Department of Accounting and Information Systems at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, PA. Before beginning a career in academe, Barbara worked in both public and private accounting settings, and owned several businesses.
