This summer at a golf event, I briefly made eye contact with Tiger Woods, who was but a few yards away from me. It soon became evident to me that he was not impressed by my AccountingWEB baseball cap.

I’ll bet it’s interesting being on Tiger’s management team. Just imagine all the accounting challenges risen involving his operations, winnings and endorsements on a global scale.

Our new AccountingWEB goal: grow to the size where Tiger is sporting our baseball cap.

The latest cost-cutting move by the U.S. Postal Service could save it up to $500 million next year. USPS is offering workers $15,000 to quit. The incentive package, negotiated with unions, would give eligible employees $10,000 during the first quarter of fiscal year 2010, and another $5,000 during the first quarter of fiscal 2011.

Ohio’s only Lamborghini dealer closed this year. The dealership was in a suburb of Columbus, where I live. Given the economic conditions, this closure was certainly no surprise. We can clearly live without such cars; however, there are a few things that Americans do not want to give up.

I am not a fan of Instant Messenger. Good ole Stephen King recently commented, "I don't think any man or woman on his or her deathbed ever wished he or she had spent more time sending IMs." I love it. Kudos to King!

My coffee at the local coffee shop on Monday morning was free. I ordered the coffee at the counter, the guy went to get the coffee, and I plopped my $1.50 beside the register. When he returned to the counter with the coffee, he remarked, "Your coffee is free today." He explained that someone who was in shortly before me paid for their coffee--and for the next person who entered the store. This “pay it forward” occurrence made my day.
