Tales from the 2012 SHRM Conference
I attended the national SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) Conference for the first time this year and all I can say is...WOW!!! 14,000 people from all over the United States, as well as 80 countries and territories, collectively gathered under one mammoth roof to gain knowledge and exchange thoughts and ideas.
The theme of this year's conference was "Be" - be engaging...be informative...be exemplary...you get the idea. That "Be" word is very powerful and get's you thinking.
Dr. Condoleezza Rice kicked off the conference and brought the "Be" theme home. Throughout her speech and follow up Q&A with CNN anchor Soledad O'Brien, Dr. Rice demonstrated what it meant to be passionate, to be extraordinary and to be a leader.
Take a look at your firm and yourself. What is your "Be"?
