Building A Successful Career In Public Accounting
Every Monday morning, Alan Weiss (consultant, speaker and author) shares something called his Monday Morning Memo. If you are a CPA working/consulting with clients, his message every Monday could be helpful to you. You can sign-up to receive it here. It's free.
Yesterday, Weiss commented on becoming successful.
...no corporate policy will ensure consistent success.
...higher education should be about learning how to learn in constantly changing times.
...adulthood should be about learning how to accept accountability.
Life and business are competitive and we all have to learn the skills, cope with the unfairness and sort out the complexities.
Having a successful career in public accounting means you have to work very hard, learn to keep pace with changing times, commit to life-long learning and build meaningful relationships. Don't look to "the firm" to make you successful. It's the other way around.
