On Being Thankful
This is the perfect time of year to assess all that you and your entire firm are grateful for. This important list should include your staff, your clients, your community relationships and all your colleagues and friends - the people who make such an impact on your success and your sustainability.
It is also a good time to give back - to demonstrate your appreciation with acts of kindness. Whether it is an annual food drive, toys for tots, gifts for displaced and battered women, abused pets or any of the world's most vulnerable, showing your sense of Corporate Social Responsibility says a lot about your firm. It is a great way to enable your staff to become more philanthropic (exposing them to opportunities where they can volunteer to help, be mentors, or give of their own funds)and it is also a perfect way to let the community you serve know that you are dedicated to its sustainability.
Over the years our firm has received recognition and awards for our community outreach and we know that each time we are honored, it is a morale booster for our employees. It is important to work for a firm that focuses on much more than the bottom line. This is a great time to make a difference - give it a try and let us know how good it makes you feel to make a difference!
