Thomson Reuters Checkpoint Wins SIIA Software CODiE Award for Best Consumer Mobile Application

Thomson Reuters on May 22 announced that its Checkpoint Pocket Assistant was named Best Consumer Mobile Application at the 2014 SIIA Software CODiE Awards.

The SIIA CODiE Awards are the premier award for the software and information industries, and have been recognizing product excellence for 29 years. The awards have over 75 categories and are organized by industry focus in three tracks: content, education, and software.

Two solutions from the Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters -- Checkpoint Pocket Assistant and ONESOURCE Return to Provision -- were nominated in the Software track. Winners were announced during a special awards dinner on Wednesday in San Francisco during Maximize, the industry's premier gathering of SaaS, BI, and cloud providers.

Checkpoint Pocket Assistant is a free mobile app available through the Apple App Store on iTunes that helps tax and accounting professionals perform routine tasks from anywhere on their iPhones. The app provides users with easy access to the latest rate guides and calculators any time they need them, including key federal income, gift and estate tax rates.

“We’re honored to be recognized for Checkpoint Pocket Assistant,” said Steve Mendelsohn, managing director of knowledge solutions for the Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters. “We believe we are delivering the industry’s most innovative solutions for our customers, and winning this prestigious CODiE Award is a validation of our efforts.”
