Alvarez & Marsal Taxand, LLC announced that Jeffrey Olin, CPA, has joined the firm as managing director in Chicago. Olin brings more than twenty-five years of deep experience in international and domestic tax matters having advised clients on tax, legal, and accounting issues related to international investments. His areas of focus include: international tax planning, accounting and compliance, tax technology implementation, acquisition due diligence, treasury coordination, and cross-border planning. He also works extensively with global companies expanding their international operations - both inbound and outbound - and advises clients in technical areas including tax-efficient financing structures, foreign tax credit planning, earnings and profits computations, earnings stripping, and transfer pricing. 

"Companies must get their tax house in order as 2013 promises to be a year of great change, regardless of the election outcome this fall," said Robert N. Lowe, CEO of Alvarez & Marsal Taxand. Olin earned a bachelor's degree in finance and economics, cum laude, from Carroll University; a juris doctor from Marquette University Law School; an LL.M. from DePaul University College of Law; and is admitted to practice before the US Federal District Court and the US Tax Court.

Citrin Cooperman Partner Kevin Ryan, CPA, has been elected chairman of the Board of Directors of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter. Ryan's two-year term as chairman began July 1, 2012. Ryan has been an active member of LLS, the world's largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer, since 1993. 
 
"I am honored to serve as chairman of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter Board of Directors," said Ryan. "For many years it has been my privilege to assist this outstanding organization in seeking to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families."
 
Ryan has more than twenty years of accounting experience. He provides audit, tax, and business consulting services to clients in a variety of industries, including the not-for-profit sector. An expert in the field of nonprofits, Ryan provides audit services to numerous charter schools in the Philadelphia area. He earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from Temple University.

Lattimore Black Morgan & Cain, PC (LBMC), one of the Southeast’s largest accounting and business consulting firms, has added Katherine Givens in its Brentwood (Nashville) office.
 
Givens has joined the firm in a staff position in the family office department. She previously worked as a tax intern at Faulkner, Mackle & Cochran, PC. In her new role, she will be working with high-wealth individuals and families along with their businesses, assisting with their day-to-day financial affairs, allowing them to spend time on things most important to them. Givens is a graduate of Tennessee Tech University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.  
 
LBMC Employment Partners, LLC, a member of the Lattimore Black Morgan & Cain, PC Family of Companies (LBMC), has added April Johnston in its Brentwood (Nashville) office.
 
Johnston has joined LBMC Employment Partners, LLC as an HR manager. She brings excellent customer service skills to the team as demonstrated in her previous job as HR coordinator at Meharry Medical College. In her new role, Johnston will be assisting clients with various HR solutions and employee-related matters, such as regulatory compliance, benefits administration, and personnel management. She is a graduate of Lipscomb University with a bachelor’s degree in communications.
