On August 29, Boomer Consulting, Inc. announced the recipients of the inaugural Bridging the Gap Awards. These awards recognize both firms and individuals in the accounting industry that excel in aligning technology, firm management, and talent development.
"These winners have done a fantastic job of leveraging thought leadership, peer networking, and accountability to consistently improve," said Jim Boomer, CIO of Boomer Consulting, Inc. "These recipients are leading the industry and truly bridging the gap."

Steve Perkins, chief information officer of HoganTaylor LLP, is the winner of the Bridging the Gap in Technology award. Since joining the Boomer Technology Circles in 2011, Perkins has fully embraced the concept of aligning IT strategy with the overall vision of his firm. He is constantly on a quest for knowledge and new ideas to take back to his firm.

Boldt Carlisle + Smith LLC has been awarded the Bridging the Gap in Talent Development award. This firm has transitioned from shared services to a shared vision firm by naming its first-ever managing partner, building a reporting structure in its four offices, and implementing its first-ever performance management process.
"We are thrilled to recognize these firms and individuals that are setting the standard for the industry," said Sandra Wiley, COO of Boomer Consulting, Inc. "These awards are a testament to their focus and hard work to improve themselves and their firms every day."
The winners were chosen by a Boomer Consulting, Inc. selection committee along with the nominations provided by the members of the Boomer Technology Circles and Talent Development Advantage community.
These firms and individuals were honored at the 2013 Boomer Technology Circles Summit & Talent Development Advantage conference on August 19-20, 2013, in Kansas City, Missouri.
