by Terri Eyden on
The board of directors of Beta Alpha Psi is pleased to announce the appointment of Margaret Fiorentino as its next executive director. Her new title is effective June 3, 2013, and she will assume full responsibilities in August 2013.
Fiorentino has been with the organization for over six years and currently serves as manager of chapter services. As executive director, Fiorentino will manage all aspects of Beta Alpha Psi membership activities and operations.
"The board of directors looks forward to working with Margaret in her new role. She will be an effective leader and continue to further the mission of Beta Alpha Psi. Her passion for the organization, proven track record, and strategic views will benefit the organization for years to come," said Board President Blane Ruschak.
Fiorentino will replace Hadassah Baum, CPA, CGMA, CMA, CAE, when she retires in August 2013. Baum served as the executive director of Beta Alpha Psi from 2003-2013 and was the only Beta Alpha Psi staff member to relocate from New York City to Durham, North Carolina, when the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) opened its main operations facility in Durham.
As manager of chapter services, Fiorentino oversaw all facets of chapter reporting, serving as the main contact for chapter inquiries for over 300 domestic and international chapters. She prepared monthly reconciliations and worked with internal and external auditors. She also managed the nine-month upgrade of Beta Alpha Psi's chapter reporting technology.
"It is an honor to be selected as executive director for Beta Alpha Psi. I look forward to continuing to work with the students, faculty advisors, board of directors, and professional partners in my new role," said Fiorentino. "Beta Alpha Psi has become such a meaningful part of my life. I am truly humbled."
Prior to joining Beta Alpha Psi, Fiorentino held positions with a financial and technology consulting firm and the Nine West Group. She also served as a technology recruiter for Pepsi Bottling Group.
Fiorentino has a bachelor's degree in liberal arts from The City College of New York.
