The first joint activity will provide an opportunity for customers to connect package software applications such as Enterprise Resource Planning and Customer Relation Management to GXS's enterprise application integration production suite.
The goal is to provide a means for clients to turn an activity like a sale into the actual delivery of goods or items purchased. This can happen by utilizing applications that facilitate the end result.
GXS will work with PwC to provide access to tools like its electronic supply chain network, EDI and other XML-based applications.
In more common terms, the process is known more readily as the Business-to-Business integration market, and by leveraging each other's core competencies, both PwC and GXS hope to come out on top.
