The Association for Financial Professionals (AFP) is seeking entries for the 2003 AFP Pinnacle Award Program. Sponsored by Wachovia Corporation, this program recognizes outstanding achievements or innovations in treasury and finance. Past recipients have included Manheim Auctions, Inc., Conseco, Inc. and Eli Lilly and Company.
The submission deadline is May 30, 2003, and there is no fee to participate. Treasury and finance departments of companies, organizations or government entities -- regardless of size, industry or location – may request an entry form from AFP at 301-907-2862 or by visiting the Recognition and Awards section of the AFP Web site. The entry categories are: 1) Innovation, 2) Technology and 3) Treasury and Finance as a Strategic Partner.
"Financial professionals faced with economic and security concerns aspire to achieve corporate goals with innovative solutions and technological advancements," said AFP's President and CEO Jim Kaitz. "The Pinnacle Award recognizes outstanding achievements that have helped organizations succeed in today's competitive marketplace."
"Wachovia is proud to sponsor this award for seven consecutive years," said Ranjana Clark, head of Wachovia Treasury Services. "We have a long-standing commitment to treasury innovation and to helping our customers meet their individual business objectives. The Pinnacle Award Program provides companies with an excellent opportunity to gain recognition for their achievements in treasury and finance management."
The Recognition Process
A nine-member evaluation committee, consisting of a cross-selection of financial industry experts, will judge all entries. Submissions will be screened to mask any material necessary to ensure a blind and impartial evaluation by the judges.
Trophies will be presented to winners in each of the three categories at The AFP 24th Annual Conference in Orlando, November 2-5, 2003. AFP will provide complimentary conference registration, transportation and lodging to the three winners, and select from those a grand prize winner to receive a $10,000 donation in its name to a charity of its choice.
With AFP's assistance, winners may develop their entries into articles for the association's magazine, AFP Exchange, and present their winning solution as a concurrent session at AFP's Orlando conference.
