AccountingWEB would like to add its name to the long list of well wishers on the occasion of the retirement of Jerry Atkinson, founder of Atkinson & Co., Ltd of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Jerry is retiring today, coinciding with the firm's 30th anniversary.
Jerry has been a very active member of the profession on the local, state and the national level since starting his firm in 1970. Jerry has served as past President of the New Mexico Society of CPAs, has been on the Board of Directors of the AICPA, has been an active member in over half a dozen AICPA Committees, was a member of the AICPA Council, past Chairman of the Private Companies Practice Session, and Past Chairman of Associated Accounting Firms International.
Jerry has been an advisory member to The Journal of Accountancy and contributing editor to Practicing CPA.
Those who know him anticipate that retirement will force Jerry to cut back the number of hours he works at Atkinson & Co. But while he dreams of ranches in Colorado or Oregon, Jerry will still be accessible through the wonders of email. So drop him a line and wish him the best.
