Dallas-based accounting firms Nicholas Montgomery, LLP and TravisWolff, LLP completed their merger on December 2, according to officials from both companies.
The firms will operate under the TravisWolff name, and Nicholas Montgomery's team of six partners, twelve managers, staff accountants, and administrative assistants will work out of TravisWolff's Dallas office, raising the number of TravisWolff employees to more than 100.
Ken Travis, founding partner of TravisWolff and chairman of the board, said in a written statement the two firms knew from their first meeting that their cultures and commitment to client service would be a perfect fit.
"With over 60 percent of our professional staff CPAs, TravisWolff has the talented staff to serve clients with complex and, at times, multinational needs," Travis said. "Our merger with the outstanding people of Nicholas Montgomery positions our combined firm to provide unique opportunities to our staff, our clients, and our community."
Founded in 1987 by Kenneth Nicholas and Samuel Montgomery, Nicholas Montgomery provides audit, tax, and consulting services to entrepreneur-owned businesses, high-net-worth individuals, and not-for-profit organizations.
"It is difficult to describe in words the excitement and energy level of the Nicholas Montgomery personnel resulting from the merger with TravisWolff," Nicholas Montgomery Partner Steve Flanagan said in a written statement. "The complementary nature of our firms was compelling, and we strongly believe that the merger with TravisWolff has strengthened each of our abilities to serve our clients well into the future."
Ken Travis and Ed Wolff founded the independent accounting and advisory firm in 1991, which offers a full range of assurance, tax, and consulting services to "emerging companies, established companies, and successful individuals and families," the TravisWolff website states. In addition, the firm provides specialized services in the following areas:
- Collaborative divorce consulting
- Compensation and benefits planning
- Employee benefit plan audits
- Estate planning
- Exit planning
- Forensic accounting
- IT auditing
- Litigation and transactional advisory services
TravisWolff serves mid-market clients throughout Texas and, as a member of Moore Stephens International Ltd., extends its services to businesses operating in the global marketplace, the firm noted.
