HORNE LLP, an accounting and business advisory firm, announced that Joe D. Havens, CPA, will become the firm's next executive partner effective May 3. His transition into leadership is part of the planned retirement strategy of Hugh J. Parker, PhD, CPA. Parker has been the executive partner at HORNE since 2003.
"Joey is well prepared for this role. His experience combined with his passion and personal commitment to excellence in client service means our clients and our team members will continue to be our primary focus under his leadership," Parker said.
For more than twenty-five years, Havens has served the firm in various leadership roles that have directly impacted HORNE's growth into a large regional firm. He spent eighteen years in HORNE's health care practice group, and he served as the partner in charge of health care services for a number of years. In 2007, Havens took the reins of HORNE's disaster recovery team that pioneered accounting methodology and government compliance procedures for disaster recovery management.
"From the firm's perspective, not much will change with this leadership transition," Havens said. "While this is a big deal for me personally ‒ it's a great honor as well as a significant career milestone ‒ for our clients and for our team members, it will be business as usual on May 3. We have been planning and working on this transition for over a year and our team is focused on our clients and our mission."
International forensic accounting firm RGL Forensics has appointed Ryan A. Carruth, CPA/CFF, CGMA, CFE, previously partner in the firm's Atlanta office, to manage the operations and direction of the firm's new office in Sydney, Australia. Carruth is relocating to Sydney for the office's April 23 opening.
Carruth joined the firm in 1997 and has led its Atlanta office since becoming a partner in 2005. He has extensive experience in the measurement of financial damages related to legal and insurance claims and has worked with clients across the globe in a range of industries, from environmental to manufacturing. He frequently provides expert witness testimony in conjunction with his work, and he has testified in federal and state courts on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants.
According to Angie MacPhee, CEO of RGL Forensics, Carruth is exceptionally qualified to lead the firm's ongoing Australia operations where there is increased demand for financial forensic services. "Ryan is a highly experienced professional who has devoted his entire career to the practice of forensic accounting," she said. "RGL Forensics is committed to its operations in the Australasian market, and we are confident that Ryan, with access to the full resources of RGL Forensics' global entity, will continue to bring great value to our clients in the region."
