“We’re happy to make the checklist available to Center Members through their web site and we’re sure they’ll find it extremely valuable in meeting the ever-more-stringent SEC requirements for auditing public companies,” said Mike Dabbatis, CCH vice president of sales and marketing.
CCH, a Wolters Kluwer company, is committed to providing the Center with the updated CCH SEC Disclosures Checklist every quarter. The current version is updated as of December 31, 2005. The Center will notify member firms, through electronic messaging, every time an updated version of the checklist is available.
The SEC Disclosures Checklist contains information useful to auditors on SEC requirements, above and beyond U.S. GAAP. Organized by accounting topic, it provides background material and references to the source material and identifies disclosure requirements for financial statements for commercial industries. The Checklist tool also provides a column for users to note that the disclosure requirements have been met and includes an area to enter workpaper references. Including a copy of the completed checklist in annual or quarterly workpapers provides support for the firm’s audit of the disclosures in a public company’s financial statements.
The SEC Disclosures Checklist tool is normally available as part of the CCH Accounting Research Manager®, the premier research database of accounting, auditing, SEC and governmental authoritative literature and interpretive guidance. It is also available as an annual print publication.
