Aronson & Company (A&C), a nationally-ranked top 50 accounting and consulting firm, recently announced its Show Us Your Future video submission contest geared toward college accounting and finance majors entering the job market.
In order to win the grand prize, a student-to-professional makeover worth more than $2,500, entrants are asked to submit a three minute video that creatively demonstrates where they see themselves after graduation. The video entries will be posted on youtube.com and streamed to the contest website, where people can watch all of the videos, rate them and add comments. The video with the highest rating, as of January 15, 2008, will win the grand prize, which includes such individual prizes as professional image services, clothing, resume consultations, and more.
The Show Us Your Future campaign was designed specifically to address changing trends in recruiting for a new generation of professionals who are more comfortable with using technology as a means for advancement and expression than their older counterparts. With the rise of Internet-delivered media and tools like video résumés, Aronson & Company's innovative and unique approach is indicative of their commitment to staying 'wired in' to current trends. While many accounting firms are still using the want-ads and outsourced recruiters to make cold calls, this progressive firm is talking to a new generation by speaking their language.
