Wipfli LLP, a national CPA and consulting firm with 15 offices in Minnesota and Wisconsin, closed its doors for business on September 24 so that hundreds of associates throughout the Midwest could spend the day giving back to the communities that have fueled the firm’s growth. In just this one day, associates dedicated over 2800 work hours to 35 organizations to make a difference in their communities.
“This annual tradition exemplifies the firm’s mission to create value and secure the future of our clients and the communities we live in and serve,” Rick Dreher, Wipfli’s managing partner said. “Our firm is just as committed to making a difference in the world around us as we are to helping our clients succeed. Because of the tremendous impact we are able to make in just this one day, we felt this was important enough to make it an annual firmwide event.”
Amber Gierach of Milwaukee’s Pathfinders said, “Wipfli served the physical needs of the organization that were not able to be met by the staff at Pathfinders. The positive energy that Wipfli brought will resonate with everyone involved with Pathfinders.”
Nicole Brei of Boys & Girls Club of La Crosse said. “We would not be able to exist without our community and Wipfli’s associates are a big part of that.”
Sarah Krenn of the United Way in Marshfield, Wisconsin, stated, “Especially in current economic times, it is rare for companies to donate their employees’ work day to complete community service. United Way applauds Wipfli’s commitment to the Marshfield area and its nonprofit organizations. This type of commitment and service is the key to our success in impacting the lives of others.”
“Along with their other work, it would have taken our staff three to four weeks to get done what we did today,” Mary Kirlin of the Humane Society of Marathon County (in Wausau, Wisconsin) said. “Words cannot express what Wipfli’s associates did for the morale and the animals today.”
Tim Storey of Madison’s Porchlight, Inc. commented, “They (Wipfli’s associates) did a tremendous job. Wipfli’s volunteer group is one of our largest and we use them at three different locations. It is a great effort and time commitment the firm gives to the community.”
Jill Brandenburg with Putnam Heights Elementary, one of the local schools at which Wipfli volunteered in Eau Claire/Chippewa Falls area, commented, “We are extremely grateful for the work the Wipfli volunteers did. I am impressed by Wipfli’s corporate initiative to give back to the community.”
