U.S. Bank has unveiled a new service for business customers. Called Image Check Web, the service provides the bank's business customers with the ability to view recently cleared checks via the Internet.
Checks are available for viewing the day after they clear the bank. Citing advantages such as fraud detection, improved customer service by quickly being able to answer questions, quick access to information about checks that didn't get entered, and verification of payments to be used for claiming discounts, the bank hopes its customers will notice improved efficiency and better customer relations.
U.S. Bank is one of the first banks to offer this service, but can others be far behind? This seems like a natural extention of Internet usage that can benefit both banks and their customers.
