Forget about Y2K for just a minute and think about your software licensing. Do you take licensing seriously in your firm? Microsoft is going to make it worth a person’s while to report it if you don’t have your licensing in order.
Three individuals recently were awarded the combined amount of $50,000 for information that led to three companies that were illegally using the software giant’s software. Two legal actions were the result of the tips that came into Microsoft’s Honesty Line.
Microsoft’s program has been around since November 4, 1997 for employees to report illegal usage, sale or manufacture of Microsoft software. The initiative is aimed at reducing software piracy. Depending on the quality of the caller's information and resulting legal action, Honesty Line callers stand to gain as much as $20,000 for their assistance.
Make sure your employees don’t have anything to call the Honesty Line for!
