Philadelphia-based Citrin Cooperman, an accounting, tax, and business consulting firm, raised $15,652 in support of the American Cancer Society's 2011 Relay For Lifeof Ocean City, NJ. The event was held on June 24 and 25, 2011. During the event, Citrin Cooperman's team of 20 members gathered at Ocean City High School and took turns walking and running around the school's track in honor of the Society's mission to eliminate and prevent cancer.
Jeffrey Gittler, CPA, Citrin Cooperman partner and supporter of the American Cancer Society, led the charge for the Relay For Life program in the Philadelphia office. Individually, Gittler raised more than $12,000 for the cause and encouraged his co-workers to support the effort.
"The fight against cancer is a cause that is near to my heart, so it was moving to see my colleagues rally and support this great program and organization", said Gittler. "Relay For Life is a life-changing event that gives people a chance to celebrate the lives of those we know that have battled cancer, to remember lost loved ones, and to fight back against this major health problem."
