Hudson Financial Solutions, which provides companies with a range of consulting and project management services in accounting, finance, and audit-related functions, hosted its Second Annual Hudson Charity Golf Tournament at Renditions Golf Course in Davidsonville, MD, on October 17, 2008. All proceeds from the event support the Pediatric Oncology program at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins.
The tournament's Legacy Partner, 180s, the Baltimore-based leading brand for innovative outdoor accessories, led the impressive list of contributors with a $10,000 donation. Additional partners included ULLICO Inc., an insurance and financial services holding company, and Impulse Monitoring, Inc. which provides intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring services to hospitals and other facilities.

With over 75 area executives in attendance, the tournament provided opportunities for networking, golf contests, a silent auction and luncheon where an inspirational story was shared by an eleven-year-old patient at the Pediatric Oncology center. Guests at the day-long event included executive foursomes from area businesses including Constellation Energy, EADS North America, NASDAQ OMX, and Pepco Holdings, Inc., among other prominent companies.
In addition to hosting all greens fees, beverages, and lunch, Hudson donated $1,000 to the cause. In lieu of any expenses for guests, teams were encouraged to make individual or corporate contributions to Pediatric Oncology at Johns Hopkins.
According to Johns Hopkins, twenty years ago, only 30 percent of children with cancer could be effectively treated. Today, the survival rate is over 75 percent. Hudson's corporate social responsibility program encourages employee involvement and focuses on three pillars of: employee volunteerism, corporate giving, and responsible business practices.
