The results are in from the 200 Annual Survey of Accounting Professors which rates U.S. accounting firms, and the accountants are cheering at PwC. After 18 years of looking up to Arthur Andersen which has had a lock on the number one position, PricewaterhouseCoopers can now gaze down from the top berth as well, having tied AA for the top spot.
The survey of college professors is based on their experience and perception. Firms are rated in the following areas:
- business success
- client service quality
- technical reputation
- staff training
- career opportunity
- work/life balance
College students nationwide use the poll rankings as a barometer when making interview and job offer decisions.
In the poll, which is sanctioned by CPA Personnel Report, Deloitte & Touche finished in third place, followed by Ernst & Young, KPMG, Grant Thornton, and BDO Seidman.
