Accounting firms have until the end of the month to participate in the First Annual Accounting Firm Operations and Technology Survey, which gauges what types of technology accounting professionals are using in their practices.
"Although there are many good surveys, there were many unanswered questions. The intent is to discover factual, actionable information", Randy Johnston, president of technology consulting firm Network Management Group Inc., said in a written statement.
Developed by Johnston and Leslie Garrett, PhD, CEO of Insight Research Group, the survey features eighty-three questions – mostly multiple choice – that cover such operations- and technology-related areas as:
- Practice management
- Technology management
- Operating systems
- Computer hardware
- Application software
- File and data storage/management
- Remote access/Internet/telecommunications
- Technology spending, decision-making, annoyances, and trends
The survey, which closes on November 30, should only take participants approximately fifteen to twenty minutes to complete, according to Johnston and Garrett.
Those who complete the survey will receive a free copy of the First Annual Accounting Firm Operations and Technology Survey eBook, which will include survey questions, responses, and analysis. The eBook will be delivered in January 2014.
"We are excited about the survey and to deliver the eBook", Garrett said in a written statement. "Firms of all sizes will have the opportunity to examine how other firms of similar demographics are operating."
