PLEASANTON, CA (February 21, 2001) â More efficient responses, targeted analysis of results, and no-cost participation by firms and state CPA societies are the key benefits derived from the new partnership between Results Accountants' Systems (RAS) and the Texas Society of CPAs (TSCPA) for the 2001 MAP Survey.
Now in its 26th year, the MAP Survey is an industry-recognized, annual comparison of the services, operations and management of public practice firms across the nation. For the first time, all firms and state CPA societies who participate will not incur any cost because RAS will underwrite all expenses associated with the survey. This includes the technology behind the survey's new, online format, as well any promotions and marketing. Not only will participating firms receive their reports at no charge, but state societies will generate income as well.
"RAS is committed to delivering services that enhance a firm's bottom line, and one of the hallmarks in the profession is the TSCPA MAP Survey," says Bryan Calhoun, Director of Alliances and Sales for Results Accountants' Systems. "Our goal is to help TSCPA increase participation by e-enabling the function, and by providing a complimentary, one-on-one performance consultation with any participating firms."
RAS and TSCPA also have worked to simplify the survey's format and distribution. It will only be available online, and will be much easier to complete than previous paper versions. All results will be available in electronic formats, and as a bonus, RAS will offer its OnTarget® software to enable firms to do a quick what-if analysis to formulate plans for the future. A report on competition in the public accounting arena, written by Payne also accompanies the survey.
"RAS brings TSCPA an incredible toolkit of services to enhance the MAP survey for public practitioners and state CPA societies across the country," says John Sharbaugh, CAE, TSCPA executive director. "Their backing helps ensure the Survey not only can continue, but do so in a manner that is consistent with today's technology and continued innovations."
Tom Fitzgerald, CPA, chairman of the TSCPA MAP Survey Committee, agrees. "We hope to tremendously increase the participation level by firms throughout the country and provide accurate data to help improve the profitability of the accounting practice."
Firms and state CPA societies may visit the new MAP Survey site, www.cpamapsurvey.com, for more information, and mailings will be distributed in February.
